Brian Seeger earned a Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) from Berklee College of Music, and a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of New Orleans.

Returning to his alma mater in 2007, he teaches advanced arranging, composition, music technology, and music business, directs ensembles, mentors budding producers and recording engineers, and oversees the busy recording studio and learning labs.

His performance and recording credits include work with such diverse talents as Aaron Neville, Charlie Hunter, Davell Crawford, Stanton Moore, Nicholas Payton, and  Zachary Richard, as well as with bands including the Gentilly Groovemasters, the New World Funk Ensemble, Quintology, and Neslort. He tours frequently in Europe with several bands, and has represented the United States on several State Department-sponsored jazz ambassador tours.

Professor Seeger is a master studio producer and composer, with production credits on numerous and varied releases, including Cindy Scott’s recent award-winning  jazz CD “Let the Devil Take Tomorrow” and Camile Baudoin’s folk/country “Old Bayou Blues.” Gambit Weekly calls him “one of New Orleans’ best jazz guitarists,” while New Orleans Magazine lists him as a New Orleans Jazz All-Star (along with Irvin Mayfield and Davell Crawford.)

Professor Seeger is director of the National Guitar Workshop’s Jam Summit and has been a guest clinician and lecturer at many other jazz camps, colleges and schools.
