Born in Michigan, Brian moved before his 1st birthday to California, started school in Maryland, lived in New Jersey, graduated from high school in Florida, hitchhiked in Europe and Asia for a couple of years and spent some time in Massachusetts, before moving to New Orleans in 1991. He holds a Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude, from Berklee College of Music, and a Masters of Music, Jazz Performance, from the University of New Orleans.

Brian has performed extensively in the United States and abroad, both as a bandleader and sideman. In the last five years alone, he has presented concerts in Bolivia, Canada, The Czech Republic, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Along with his busy performing and teaching schedule, Brian has established himself as a record producer and a composer of note. His compositions have appeared on numerous national and international releases, and are part of the songbook of many New Orleans acts. His production credits include releases on Fresh Sound and Rounder, as well as numerous independent products.
