Performance and Practice

Facilities include the 375-seat Recital Hall, practice and performance spaces for both large and small ensembles, a large choir room, some 30 dedicated practice rooms, three drum practice rooms, and a dedicated grand piano practice room. Dedicated, secured rooms for bass and drum storage are available, as are a variety of storage lockers. The building also houses numerous classrooms, most equipped with audio-visual equipment, and faculty offices and studios.

 

 

 

 

 

Recording Studio

Other facilities include a state of the art recording studio featuring the Digidesign ProTools Mix Plus system, a Steinway grand piano, and a wide selection of the latest equipment and software. Courses are taught by leading recording studio professionals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Media Resource Center

In the summer of 2004 the Department began construction of a new Media Resource Center to house its library of orchestra, band and chamber music, along with an extensive collection of pedagogy resources.

 

 

 

 

 

Other Facilities

 The Department’s facilities also include an up-to-date 8-station MIDI lab; and a 16-station electronic  keyboard and theory lab equipped with the latest versions of Finale, Sibelius, Digital Performer, Garage Band, Band in a Box, Neuratron, Garritan Jazz and Big Band as well as other popular software programs.
